EPISODE #29 / #30
SHOWN ON UTV
MY--OUR--LYIN' EYES
EPISODE #29
We continue as Santiago and Raquel have a heart to heart while the mattress burns. He can’t deal with any of this. He’s a fool in everyone’s eyes. He’s got no self-respect left! She/they destroyed him, his life and now they want to take his child from him!! They destroyed both of them and how can she say they’re better off? He proclaims his love for Raq and asks what’s the matter with her. He kisses her. He says he loves her, and wants to make love to her. She won’t go further than to share his kisses—with all that’s been done and said and threatened and advised recently. The kids are watching their every move as well as Screamin’ Mimi de Miriam. Suddenly there’s a call from the housekeeper that Mia’s been way too long in the shower and Raq races off. He removes his wedding ring finally and throws it into the flames. (Yeah, we’re right there with ya, Santi. Ten points for coming to terms finally!)
3 YEARS EARLIER:
3 YEARS EARLIER:
Augustino and Nacho are waiting for Santi to come have a beer with them. Nacho says it’s the best way for Auggie to give Santi the necessary truth to open his eyes about Carolina. Auggie isn’t agreeing. It’s not their place, but Nacho disagrees. He’s their friend and needs to know the truth, even if it hurts. Santi sits down and gives them the grand news that he’s going to be a papa again. Santi gets up and comes back. Nacho pushes Auggie to give up the truth as he saw it. The air and joy goes out of Santi.
Later that night Santi calls Raq and asks if Damian has told her about the argument over at his house earlier. Nope. He’s out of town on business and hmmm, Caro’s gone to Valle to help her sister-in-law cope. Odd, but nothing more is said. Raq will ask him when he returns.
At the loveshaque-up, Caro and Dam argue about the kid being Dam’s and how it will be a stab in his eye every time he sees Santi carrying him in his arms. Well, Caro didn’t mean for this to happen (so she says but Viewerville wonders); this has got to end and she’s told him this numerous times ad infinitum ad nauseam. They begin to make love but Caro isn’t really into it. She (we believe) stops poor Dam in the midst of his passion to pack and leave. She heads off down the highway and he drives after her.
It’s not quickly enough since who doth appear out of nowhere but brother Vicente. He asks her what she’s doing walking down this highway alone in the middle of the night? A fight with Santi or what? Suddenly, Dam appears and starts to intervene but Caro moves in between him and Vicel. Vice gets the picture aplenty fast and accuses the two of them of an affair which neither denies. Vice yells at her to get into his car so they can go back to his place and talk things over. She eventually does and Dam is left holding his balls—er,,, the ball.
At the old house, (or Vicente’s new hovel ?) Vice and Caro argue about her doings and don’ts. He tells her to sit down and keep quiet while he thinks over his cup of sobering coffee as to how he can turn this to his advantage. She doesn’t quibble.
After dinner at los Alvarado, Lola and Nicolas grouse about what she ever saw in Teach the Stalker. She spits back that at least he doesn’t cut himself. Nico wants the low-down and she tells him what she saw at Alcapulco and why there was that huge fight: Mia cuts herself. It’s a sickness. She’s got to get help.
Nico races over to talk to Mia and try to reason with her. He says he can help her. (After getting jabbed in the hand and sliced up with a Bic pen, Viewerville wonders if Nico isn’t as much a masochist as Mia. He tells her he can help her. She pulls out her handy knife and tells him to cut himself or he’ll never understand her, how it feels to be her….(Sheesh. Get me an appointment with Dr. Ralph right away………..)
Somewhere before that, Federico tells Mia to stop the crazy cutting. She kicks him out of her room calling him a traitor who’s told Mama everything. No, but she suspects. Out of loyalty he goes down and tells Mama since she’s asked, that the paraphernalia belongs to Julietta. (He’s only half wrong, we know.) I guess that satisfies Raq for now.
The evening after when Dam comes in for dinner, Raq asks him what happened and please explain to her why he was arguing with Caro at Santi and Caro’s place the other day. They are completely flummoxed by this and want to know what brought it on. Dam looks like the fox who’s just been caught in the hen house. (Too bad that he’s had so much time to consider what explanation/sob story to give Raquel when she asks as he was certain she would/could eventually. His reply awaits us in tomorrow’s episodio.)
Laura is writing her next exposé on the murder case. Godoy says he can only give her an advance and nothing specific (I think, It wasn’t clear here to hear for sure.) He tells her that the gun Raq found in Andres’s office didn’t match the ballistics for the bullets found in Caro’s body. Somehow Laura brings the whole situation back to their own. “—You hate me right?” Godoy snaps back at her that no, it’s just the opposite, but with all that she keeps throwing in his face—that he’s essentially nothing but a piece of crap as a man, well, he’s beginning to think the same of her.
Raq arrives home and Cinthia is there. She hands Raq a packet of 1000 pesos, but Raq wants no part of her dirty dinero. Gawd knows how she earned it. FAGEDDABOUDIT!
Raq goes upstairs and Mia admits to Mama that she’s been at it again.
SinCin argues with Rafael over his refusing to let her sell drugs for him. She gets dead drunk and that’s too dangerous for what he does. No, he’ll let her earn another way. He owes a big whale a big debt. She will be his payment in full.
The next day Nico returns to the law office. Alina in between listing his chores for the day, asks if he liked her gift and if he kept it. Yes and yes. Well if there are to continue where they left off the day before he’ll have to hang onto them but if he is opposed, then he’ll just have to return her little present.
Santi and Nacho are having coffee and a chat. He’s back in town to give the cops his statement. It turns out that Nacho was actually in town when Caro and Dam were attacked, not away taking care of his wife’s problems and the house payments or some such. Dun-dun-dun-dun!!!!!
Raq has all sorts of personal bills piling up. She goes to the office to beg Screaming Mimi for financial aid. “—Why not get money out of Damian’s personal account? It’s both of yours.” “—Because I was never given access to it.” (Typical dominating male crapola.) “-- Why do this to us?” Because she wants to have things in order when sonny boy wakes up and because Raq’s taking advantage of his being in a coma and helpless. (Now we know the bitch knows her son was no angel—anything but—yet she keeps on pushing Raq’s buttons as if he were.) Raq explodes telling her MIL that it was precisely her son’s love affair that ruined all their lives, destroying her and her children’s lives in the doing!! Wake up and smell the coffee (you old hag)!!” Not on her life will she help! “--I mean to have you out in the street (on your non-ass-ets) and PDQ!!” Raq storms out of the office—but I only wish she’d thrown the bills in her or Andres’s face first. On her way out Andres races up and offers his support—take it instead of sinking in the sheets with El Alvarado ese. She rejects him outright and tells him to get out of her face and fast. What about NO and NADA doesn’t he understand?????
As Nacho and Santi are saying their good-byes, Raq shows up. Once Nacho is gone she admits she’s been financially squeezed. She hasn’t any money. Not a centavo. Can she ask him for a favor? Why not? He loves her, and she can count on him. After all, he owes a debt of gratitude to her: everything he has is due to her and her friendship and generosity. She feels protected and safe it seems. She relaxes. They kiss.
Later that night Santi calls Raq and asks if Damian has told her about the argument over at his house earlier. Nope. He’s out of town on business and hmmm, Caro’s gone to Valle to help her sister-in-law cope. Odd, but nothing more is said. Raq will ask him when he returns.

EPISODE#30

Nicolas comes back to the Becker manse that morning looking for Alina’s missing present. He’s ready to blame it on Federico or some such, but Mia holds them out to him: “--Did you come looking for these?” Dunno whatyertalkin’bout. UHMMM> She accuses him of possibly sleeping with the new jefa. He’s been ignoring her. She tells him she cut herself again.
Agustin gives his statement and tells them that Nacho as well as Santiago knew about Damian and Caro and possibly that Nacho did the murderous deed at Santi’s behest.
Alina fires the guy Nico’s replacing for the Couch of Therapy. We note he’s shorter than Alina in those CMF jefa-heels. Who is this dismissed dude??? Alina gripes that Nico didn’t get his duties completed and undresses to show him what he’ll now be missing. He throws himself at her and gets gritched at.
At los Becker, Mia comes down long enough to sneer at her Tia going out in full daylight dressed to kill.
At los Alvarado later that same day, the new mattress arrives and Raq and Santi decide to try it out. Unfortunately for them, they hear Juan and Lola (Benji in her arms) arguing. (Juan’s supposedly changed, but Lola doesn’t care and says no go.) Santi dresses and races down to handle things. Juan leaves. Benji has a fever and Raq races to put wet towels on him.

Antonio advises him that Auggie told them Nacho and he knew 3 years ago that Dam and Caro were having an affair. Nacho asks for a cup of coffee.
Nacho gets on Auggie’s case for saying anything about Santi’s personal life and problems to Gabriela. She comes out to chat with Santi when he arrives. She prods for all the dirt and hurt and professes that as a woman she can make it better, just as well as Raquel can/does …..Ahemmmm. Santi’s wise and denies anything wrong much less that he’s got gossip for her. She gets nasty and tells him then to shape up or ship out and the job he does there better be the best of his life or else.
Gabi wants a meet with Dam to discuss his affair with him.
Raq wants Dam to give her an explanation about the argument with Caro the other day. He gets defensive and turns the tables on her accusing her of accusing him of being disloyal. (A quiet wife is a happy wife. Don’t Raq the boat, Babe.)
Meanwhile, Caro accuses Vicente of planning to extort Dam. He accuses her of leaving him in a pig-pile all these past years while she high-tails it out of there with the first man that came along. “—Since that fateful day you left me in this house with those damned memories while you were left in peace. Peso for peso you will pay for that!”
Nico refuses to cut himself and tells Mia that she’s really sick. She threatens never to speak to him again. He runs into Fede and accuses him of aiding and abetting Mia get away with cutting herself. Fede begs him to help him cover up Mia’s problem but Nico won’t. He warns Fede that if he doesn’t tell his mom, then Nico himself will.
Gabi tries to blackmail Dam. I believe she proposes that he get involved with her and her hubby or Raq will be told what she knows, courtesy of Santi’s workers.
Vice asks Caro how much she’s willing to pay for his silence. Caro refuses to pay one centavo. Santi calls Vice on the cell since he cannot reach Caro. He says she’s there with him so not to worry, and yes, she didn’t realize her phone was turned off. She’s on her way home now. Caro leaves Vice’s cabin and immediately calls Dam to tell him that Vice found out and wants hush-money. Dam says he’ll handle it.
Andres turns up at the Becker manse. He tells Jovita he’s there to pay the bills for “The Family”.
Once Benji’s fever is down and he’s quiet, Raq leaves. Lola politely asks how Santi really feels about Raquel.
Juan knocks on Laura and Godoy’s front door. He wangles his way into the house. He refuses to leave and starts trying to rape Laura, accusing her of being jealous of Lola. (He may be right!)
Godoy, meanwhile, turns out to be the Big Whale Raphael’s set up with Cinthia. (Oh noes!! WTF, Fernando???SinCin mentions the debt Raphael means to pay off as she strips and Godoy patiently watches.
Raq meets Julieta who admits she cuts herself but also advises Raq to have a meaningfully long chat with Mia. Don’t believe all Mia tells her.
Dam visits Caro at the house and forces her to give him Vice’s cell phone number. She won’t go into the reasons why she’s frightened of Vice.
Santi reprimands Auggie for upsetting the customer with his chatter.
Nacho visits Caro. He admits that Auggie heard the argument in the yard with Dam. He told him and Santi about it, but he didn’t tells Santi everything he heard. However, he did tell Nacho all. He asks her outright if she’s been cheating on Santi.
