TUESDAY 5TH JUNE, 2018...UPDATE ON "THREE FACES OF ANA
EPISODE #27
SHOWN ON GTV
LONG EPISODE'S JOURNEY INTO THE NIGHT
Creepy Isidro and Rodrigo (Abue's former beau) are discussing the sale of Creesidro's lands. Creesidro did not anticipate selling that soon and wants to wait. Suddenly Ramiro appears and is introduced as Rodrigo's new accountant. Rodrigo asks Ramiro to walk Creesidro to his taxi and then return. The taxist is, as we remember, Santiago. Of course right then, the hotel doorman asks Santi to do a lap around the building and not occupy the space in front of hotel. Just as he takes the said lap, he of course misses both Ramiro and Isidro, so once again the best friend reunion is successfully avoided by the telenovela deities.
Ramiro returns to Rodrigo's room. They talk some about Ramiro's thesis, which Rodrigo for some reason was reading (because a real estate mogul would have nothing more pressing to read of course, silly question). Thesis is dedicated to Llora. Llora must be very proud of him, says Rodrigo. Ramiro, it turns out, has another favor to ask - more money. More?? Rodrigo is incredulous. Turns out that it was Rodrigo who gave Ramiro an advance that the latter put towards his apartment. So Ramiro didn't even have his own money for that and yet insisted on buying an expensive apartment?? Are we sure he is an accountant? Because that was amazingly bad money counting... In any case, Rodrigo is prepared to discuss the loan if Ramiro convinces Creesidro to sell.
Ana Le, in the meantime, is on the good-bye tour around the house, as she is off the beach and needs to brag to everybody. Bragging session to Llora goes successfully, she puts a jab in that unlike Llora, Ana Le can sun tan and enjoy the beach. In a surprising glimpse of non-annoyance and, dare I say it, some show of self-esteem (!!), Llora says that just because she doesn't have a leg, does not also mean she cannot enjoy life. Now if she could only remember that for at least 5 minutes each episode, watching her would be much less irritating.
Ana Le is surprised as well, and invites Llora along. No, Llora doesn't like Ana Le's friends and has plans with Tin. Ana Le repeats Llora's recent wisdom that neither the wheelchair, nor an artificial leg, are an impediment to having fun. She then advises that Llora does not treat Tin with the assumption that, like Llora, he is an introvert, or she runs a risk of boring him. And having dispensed that gem of wisdom, Ana Le departs.
At the beach, Ana Le makes quite an entrance. A particular young man is quite taken by her. He is a cousin of her friend. Later that cousin makes a fool of himself falling off the jet ski, trying to impress Ana Le. Ana Le is not easy to impress, and the dude is small potatoes for her. Dude's cousin - Ana Le's friend - is offended on his behalf. (By the way - this dude, I think, is in the credits as well)
Back at the Casa Loco Llora tells Tin about Ana Le's invite. He isn't sorry she declined, as he has some plans for both of them to be alone. Audience collectively shudders. Tin does call Ana Le superficial though and even Llora can't deny that. A bit later we find Tin and Llora at the aquarium admiring the aquatic life.
We cut to the horse races, where Inaki just bet his last money and lost it. He tries to cajole his brother into giving him a loan, but the brother (smart!) won't budge.
Santi is driving Ana Lu around. They discuss Santi's conversation with Sole. Santi continues to impress that he is definitely, most certainly and beyond a shadow of a doubt, coming back from Costa Paraiso. Even we don't believe you, Santi. Of course, we've seen Evaristo in his godfather outfit planning your trip, and think you better check for a horse head under you blanket every morning.
Santi is stopped by the police in the middle of his arduous efforts to convince Ana Lu that he won't be bailing. Apparently someone accused Santi of theft!! Three guesses as to who that could be... The policeman doing the arrest is the one on Ev's payroll.
Santi is taken to the cell and Ana Lu promises to call Evaristo. We really hope she doesn't, because at this point we aren't sure who Ev will be trying to beat up by the end of episode and hope it won't be Santi. Orlando materializes out of nowhere. Why, yes, it was him who accused Santiago. After much bickering back and forth, they agree that Orlando will take his accusations back and, in return, Ana Lu agrees to talk to him alone on some unspecified date/time, and writes down his phone number to do so.
Just around that time, Chana phones Sole to tell her Orlando knows everything, and is threatening to tell. Moreover, she thinks he will look for Ana Lu's real family, and - by the by - he is also already in Mexico city. Ramiro told Orlando everything, says Chana, and showed photos and dates. Sole almost faints. What will she do - she will now never have a moment of peace. Chana suggests Sole tells Ana Lu the truth, asks Ana Lu's family for forgiveness and turn herself in to the police. Sole thinks she definitely won’t be doing that. Well, says Chana, then don’t complain that you won’t have a moment of peace. Sole doesn’t think Orlando will harm them, as he's known her his whole life, but Chana thinks his opinion of Sole changed with this new knowledge.
Not willing to chance it, Sole is inviting Evaristo for tea and stimulating conversation on how to get rid of her new annoyance - nosy Orlando. Ev wants a phone number, a picture, and for Sole to stop annoying him with her "just don't hurt them" nonsense and let him do things his own way. While Sole is out visiting Maribel and asking her for Orlando's phone number (Maribel by the way looked very friendly with Inaki's brother, discussing family issues), Remedios is visiting with Evaristo. She has a lot to tell - how come Evaristo wasn't there at the funeral? She hasn't seen him in years. Well, says Ev, he and Rem's husband had a dangerous job working for a private investigation company. Alfredo did not want Rem to know and worry all the time. Sounds like a flimsy excuse to me, on the basis of which to be lying to your spouse about your real occupation. I am also not quite sure of the point of these continuing Rem-Evaristo scenes. I hope there is some intrigue buried there somewhere, besides the fact that she is really hurt that a gum-chewing dude stopped visiting.
Ramiro has invited Valeria to his new depa. Valeria believes Ramiro, but also thinks Tin is a very nice man, who is genuinely in love with Llora. Even Ramiro's account of Chana's card reading about a super-duper dangerous bloke close to Llora does not sway the practical Valeria. Oh well, says Ramiro, one day everyone will understand who Ana Le really is. Sounds like Ramiro is ready to wait until the end of this series for some serious happy ending.
Sole comes back to Ev with Orlando's phone number and sends Ev out on his mission. Ev calls the corrupt police guy and finds out Orlando has just filed a complaint! Que suerte! Policeman is to take Orlando to Ev under a good pretext. Pretext seems to be holding up - release paperwork for Santi in front of the judge.
Suddenly it's night and Santi and Ana Lu are arguing about her promise to Orlando. She wants to see it through, and he thinks he will win this argument by prohibiting her things. Ana Lu just tells him to shut up and suck it up, as she is sucking it up as well and not complaining about his wife and the impending visit to Costa Paraiso.
Orlando, in the meantime, fared much worse. Ev now has him and is steadily beating on him. Orlando Navarro, he says, today is the last day of your life. So, we start thinking that maybe we were wrong and maybe it's Orlando, who should have been looking for horse heads in his bed, for now anyway.
