Nelson drags Samar Singh and Karma through the streets of Jhansi to show people the consequence of being a revolutionary against the British. However, Samar Singh and Karma seem undeterred . They shout out to the people that this is their way of protesting peacefully.
An Englishman John Lang who runs an English newspaper The Moffusilite in India writes about Samar Singh and Karma's peaceful protests. The newspaper article reaches far and wide and becomes the talk of the town in English circles.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Laxmi Bai reaches the British camp with written permission to meet Samar Singh and Karma. Nelson smirks and allows her in. Laxmi Bai is aghast at the dire state of the duo. Within merely 24 hours of their arrest, Nelson had brutally beaten them up and locked them inside a coffin to suffocate. Laxmi Bai gets angry seeing the atrocities on them.
Nelson sees Lang's articles against him and gets livid. He angrily tosses the newspaper which lands up with Laxmi Bai. Nelson taunts her saying that he can read out the newspaper to Laxmi Bai as she must have never got the time to pursue education.
Hearing him, Laxmi Bai retorts in chaste English that she is more educated than him and will now take the help of an Englishman to teach another Englishman a lesson. Nelson and Malcolm are stunned hearing Laxmi Bai.
Laxmi Bai finds more articles written by Lang. The articles have covered each of Laxmi Bai's missions as a revolutionary and have praised her bravery. She expresses her desire to Tatya Tope to meet Lang so that she can save Samar Singh and Karma using Lang's newspaper reach. Meanwhile, Pradhan Mantriji apprises Gangadhar Rao of the communication that they have been receiving from their neighboring kingdoms expressing their concern over the posting of British battalion in Jhansi. One of the kings even blames the irresponsible behavior of Laxmi Bai for the downfall of Jhansi. Gangadhar Rao gets upset reading the comments.

Nelson proposes to Samar Singh and Karma that they should testify the role of Laxmi Bai in freeing them in the guise of a villager to Fort William. However, Samar Singh refuses and spits on him in disgust . Karma too mocks at Nelson. Angry at the duo, Nelson brutally tortures them till they fall down unconscious.
Laxmi Bai and Tatya Tope meet John Lang. Laxmi Bai requests Lang to help them in exposing Nelson's atrocities against Samar Singh and Karma in his newspaper. She tells him that she wants to save the two by taking help from the British law. John agrees to help her.
Meanwhile, Gangadhar Rao asks Raghunath about Laxmi Bai's whereabouts. Raghunath answers that Laxmi Bai has stepped out with Tatya Tope. Gangadhar Rao orders him to find out more.
Lang requests Laxmi Bai to arrange for him a modest place where he will be able to work in privacy and secrecy. Laxmi Bai tells him that she will seek permission from Gangadhar Rao to host him in the palace.
Gangadhar Rao hears a dispute that reaches his court. One of the persons says that he is angry at another man who said that Jhansi will soon be under British rule as the kingdom has no heir. Raghunath and Pradhan Mantri get angry hearing this and pull out their swords. But Gangadhar Rao stops them saying that each person from his kingdom has the right to have their opinion. He taunts Laxmi Bai saying that the British battalion in Jhansi was invited by irresponsible hosts from Jhansi.
Laxmi Bai gets upset hearing the King's words. Just then, Tatya Tope informs Laxmi Bai that the Britishers have tortured Samar Singh and Karma to the maximum and that even John Lang was not safe outside. Hearing this, Laxmi Bai orders Tatya to immediately fetch Lang to the palace

John Lang reaches the palace. He praises the palace and says that it is the most befitting residence for the King and Queen.
Laxmi Bai greets him and directs Tatya Tope to take Lang to the guest room. She rushes to tell Gangadhar Rao about the invitation to Lang and the task for which he is here.
However, before Laxmi Bai can reach the King's chamber, Gangadhar Rao has a chance meeting with Lang. Lang tells him that he has been invited by Laxmi Bai. Gangadhar Rao gets furious hearing this and walks away saying that Laxmi Bai has crossed all limits. Laxmi Bai tries to stop him but he is in no mood to listen.
Laxmi Bai offers her explanation saying that she had come to tell him the purpose of Lang's visit but was not given an opportunity to speak. She tells Gangadhar Rao that with Lang's help they will be able to free Samar Singh and Karma using British laws. However, Gangadhar Rao opines that the duo should be punished as they tried to blow up the British battalion in his presence.
Meanwhile, Lang builds a case on behalf of Laxmi Bai against the East India Company. Laxmi Bai signs it and the two rush to Nelson's office with it.
Nelson continues to torture Samar Singh and Karma. Thinking they are dead, he orders them to be burnt. However, Samar Singh and Karma show signs of life. Undeterred, the inhuman Nelson orders that the duo be burnt alive.
Nelson is about to set ablaze the stack of hay to which Samar Singh and Karma have been tied on fire. However, Laxmi Bai reaches in the nick of time with the papers Lang has prepared challenging Nelson's orders.
