Lord Dalhousie flatly refuses to intervene in releasing Samar Singh and Karma from British custody in the Sep 3 episode of Jhansi Ki Rani on Zee TV. Gangadhar Rao blasts at him saying that his answer means that the British consider him to be only a king for namesake.
Lord Dalhousie answers that he is helpless as Laxmi Bai has filed a case on behalf of Samar Singh and Karma in the British court. However, this time Gangadhar Rao takes a firm stand and says that if his demands are not met he will not bear the expenses of the British battalion posted in Jhansi. Lord Dalhousie is stunned to hear Gangadhar Rao's tough stand.
While being taken to court, Samar Singh and Karma see a man with his face covered being taken into the jail. They pass a remark and ask the British troops why his face his covered. The man recognizes Samar Singh's voice and calls out his name.
He falls down at Samar Singh's feet. Samar Singh asks him his identity. Kundan reveals his face and begs forgiveness. He tells him that he was the one who stole the pendant from his neck which Nelson later planted in the hands of an already dead Captain Ross.
The court proceedings begin. The prosecution shows the judge the pendant that was found on Captain Ross' body. He asks Samar Singh to identify the pendant to which he answers that it was a gift from Gangadhar Rao. Lang tries to defend Samar Singh but is unable as the prosecution has strong evidence. The judge readies to pronounce his judgment. However, Laxmi Bai requests the court to allow her to touch her brothers' feet after she sees Samar Singh signaling to her. As soon as he bends down, Samar Singh mentions to her about Kundan who is currently in judicial custody. Laxmi Bai is elated to hear this.
